About the FDP
The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Advanced Research Methods in Social Sciences is a five-day intensive workshop designed to equip participants with rigorous methodological and analytical skills required for high-quality academic research. The programme is organised under the Centre for Professional Development and Continuing Studies at TIM, which is committed to enhancing academic excellence and research capabilities among scholars and faculty members. The programme offers a balanced integration of theoretical insights and practical applications, covering key stages of the research process including systematic literature review, identification of research gaps, conceptual model development, hypothesis formulation, survey design, and scale validation, along with hands-on training in data preparation and statistical analysis using IBM SPSS. Participants will also be introduced to advanced
analytical techniques such as confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), covariance-based structural equation modelling (CBSEM), and fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). Through a combination of interactive sessions and applied learning, the programme aims to enable participants to design methodologically sound studies, address empirical challenges, and produce high-quality, publishable research in the field of management and social sciences.
