Brief Overview of the Programme
The Case Method of Learning is a learner-centred pedagogical approach that uses real-life business and organizational situations to promote active learning. Rather than focusing on theoretical concepts alone, participants engage in analyzing complex problems, evaluating alternatives, and making informed decisions through discussion and collaboration.
This programme introduces participants to the philosophy, principles, and practice of the Case Method, with emphasis on effective case analysis, classroom facilitation, questioning techniques, and strategies for creating engaging learning environments. Through interactive discussions and hands-on experience with a carefully selected case, participants will develop the skills and confidence required to integrate the Case Method into their own teaching practice.
Designed for faculty members and management educators, the programme aims to strengthen teaching effectiveness by fostering critical thinking, analytical reasoning, collaborative learning, communication skills, and decision-making capabilities among learners.

Prof. Abdul Karim Musaliar
Prof. T. Abdul Karim Musaliar is a distinguished academician, management consultant, and seasoned industry leader with qualifications in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Kerala. He brings over three decades of corporate leadership experience, having served as the Managing Director of several organizations, complemented by more than twenty years of excellence in management education.
A Harvard-trained faculty member in the Case Method of Learning, Prof. Musaliar has extensive experience in designing and facilitating case-based learning for faculty members, management professionals, and students. His expertise lies in enabling participants to effectively adopt the case method as a powerful pedagogical approach that fosters critical thinking, analytical decision-making, collaborative learning, and leadership development. An accomplished author and educator, Prof. Musaliar seamlessly integrates real-world managerial insights with academic rigor, making his sessions highly engaging, practical, and impactful.
As the Resource Person for this programme, Prof. Musaliar will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Case Method of Teaching, covering its philosophy, pedagogy, classroom facilitation techniques, and best practices. The programme will also include hands-on training through a carefully selected case, enabling participants to experience the case method in practice and develop the confidence and skills to effectively implement it in their own classrooms.
